"Collect the BRP (Biometric Residence Permits)" 2015/10/2
After international student arrive in UK, we must collect our BRP in ten days, otherwise, our VISA only be available thirty days. As a result, when the second day, we moved in the college, we brought our passport to Durham immigration office, which is located in Palatine centre, near the library, so we could use the passport to collect the BRP as our ID here. However, you should check your location to collect BRP, when you apply the VISA, you may asked to fill some information about where you will study and where you want to collect the BRP. In UK, they would not use the full address, most location showed as post code. Ex, if you want to find our college's location, you may type DH1 3DF on google map, it would show you our location.
After you got your BRP, you may have your ID in UK., then you can buy the knife or alcohol drink. Be notice, only aged 21 up can buy the knife here.
抵達英國後，十天內必須拿護照去換取我們的BRP(Biometric Residence Permits)生物辨識晶片居留許可，這就是我們在UK的身份辨識，一般只要需要辨識身分，拿BRP給他們就可以了。但要注意當時申請的時候，是要求在哪個地點領取，可能每個人抵達英國的時間地點不一樣，但都要在十天內，到當初申請時，指定的地點領取。
由於英國都是用郵遞區號來代表位置（地址）因此，要確認好當初申請時，填寫的領取位置，假設指定的地點在Durham，可是預計在倫敦入境，那還是要在十天內到Durham領取BRP.
學校方面也會協助領取BRP的一些事宜，若不清楚的話，問學校的人，他們也會協助。由於Durham 是學院制度，因此各種生活上的問題或者註冊相關事宜，也都可以詢問學院的reception或者office staff.
